Profhilo®  is a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid-based injectable treatment that is specifically designed to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo does not add volume to the skin or change the shape of the face. Instead, it works by delivering a high dose of hyaluronic acid to the skin to boost hydration and elasticity. This results in smoother, more radiant, and youthful-looking skin.

The treatment itself involves injecting a small amount of the solution into specific areas of the skin.  In the face, there are 10 specific injection sites. The solution then diffuses evenly into the tissue, providing hydration and rejuvenation to the skin. 

A course of 2 treatments is recommended 4 weeks apart followed by 6 monthly treatments. 

Most side effects are mild and temporary.

Here are some common side effects:

1. Swelling and redness at the injection site. This is a normal response to the injection and should subside within a few hours to a few days.

2. Bruising (if it occurs) can last up to a week.

3. Itching or tenderness at the injection site. This is usually mild and should go away within a few days.

Allergic reaction. While rare, some people may be allergic to the product. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

After receiving a Profhilo® treatment, it is important to take certain precautions to ensure optimal results and reduce the risk of side effects. 

Here are some tips for post-treatment care:

1. Avoid touching or rubbing the injection site for at least 6 hours after the treatment. This is to prevent infection or irritation.

2. Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours. 

3. Avoid strenuous exercise/ heat, saunas, and steam rooms for 24-48 hours after the treatment. 

4. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help your body metabolize the product.

5. Be patient with the results. Profhilo® takes time to work, and you may not see the full effects for a few weeks. Wait 1 month after your 2nd session to see results.

There is no down time or recovery time required after Profhilo so usually you will be able to return to work the same day or next day.
